The Bruce Skull

A copy of the skull of king Robert the Bruce was taken when the vault containing his body was excavated in 1819.  Several copies have been made from the original which was placed in a rosewood box with a brass inlay.  The stand is inscribed: Cast in plaster by Wm, Scoular 1819. Interred 1329.  Re-interred 1819.  This is in the care of the Royal Collection Trust.
