It was great to see in excess of 400 children come to the Abbey today from a number of Primary Schools across Dunfermline for our Story Telling Event. As well as the story telling we were also presenting the prizes for our Robert the Bruce Competition, where P5s were asked to draw or write something related to Robert the Bruce. Lord Bruce, a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce attended the event and handed out some of the prizes.
The minister, MaryAnn said “It’s great to see so many schools participating in today’s event, as we continue to celebrate the presence of our church building in the midst of the Dunfermline community. In a year when we are celebrating the rediscovery of Robert the Bruce’s tomb, all these stories and pictures keep his memory alive.”
The winning entries are on display in the Memorial Chapel in the Abbey, and can be seen at the end of this set of pictures.
